Action for M.E. Karting Endurance Challenge
The next event has been organised to help raise funds for Action for M.E. and is taking place at The Raceway, Avonmouth, Bristol BS11 9YA on Sunday 20th September 2009. RACE:FACE will raise over £1,500 for Action for M.E with the winning team walking away with FREE tickets to this years British Formula Ford Festival at Castle Combe on 3rd October 2009! In addition, there will also be numerous prizes available in the event prize draw with entry costing only £1.00 per ticket! In addition, we've hooked up with Kiss 101 Breakfast to give 5 lucky listeners the chance to join Kiss Breakfast DJ, Matt Rogers in one of the teams competing at the event - completely FREE! All you have to do is listen to Kiss 101 during the beginning of September for your chance to win!
So, what are the details?
We've only got 14 team places and 6 individual spots available for the 2009 Action for M.E. Karting Endurance Challenge, so make sure you sign-up quick to avoid disappointment! You only need a £50 deposit payable by PayPal, Bank Transfer or Cheque to confirm your place with the remaining £160 due 2 weeks prior to the event. So here are the details:
All drivers will be provided full-face helmets, suits and gloves which MUST be worn - however you can still bring and wear your own subject to acceptance by Race Control.

No panic - we've set aside 1 team especially for individual drivers to sign-up! So if you're a 'billy-no-mates' or so quick round the track that none of your friends want you to embarass them, simply book one of the 6 available spots in the 'It's All About ME" team! Once you arrive at the circuit on the day you'll be introduced to the rest of the team and from that point on the strategy and team orders are down to you all! For only £35 per dirver it's a great way to join us on what will be an action-packed event!

Charity Event: Relay For Life 09 Saturday 27th June 12.00 Noon
Mandy Wilcox from Minehead has been working hard for months and has managed yet again to organsie another Relay For Life being held at the Rugby Club in Alcombe, Minehead. The relay will start at 12.00 noon on Saturday 27th June 2009 and will finish 12 noon on Sunday 28th. Over one hundred and fifty people have registered for the 24 hour event with the concept being that one person from each team must be walking throughout the duration. So it will be a fundraising day not to be missed, and will be a fun day for everone that comes along. There are stalls, competitions, sports activites, tug of war, music, auction and everything that goes to make up a great carnival atmosphere, not forgetting the Candle of Hope ceremony at 10.00pm. Each team member has been working hard to raise as much sponsorship as they can and to assist with the organising. All the fundraising that has taken place throughout the community goes towards the Cancer Research UK charity. I will be taking part in the Relay For Life and looking forward to being part of the Tony's Tiger team where ten of us will be battling around the course for 24 hours along with all the other fundraisers.
Im very pleased to of taken part in the Relay For Life in memory of Tony Bailey, and proud to have been part of a fantasic team that was put together in the last few days before the event. During the day commitee members were awarding points to each team depending on how well they done in the sports activites, team building and other compititions. The winners of this years Cancer Reasearch UK Minehead relay sheild is.
